Elsa Lucrecia's story

Señora Elsa has been part of the communal bank Mujeres Solidarias (United Women) for three years. She lives in the canton of Paute, a place that has a privileged climate, since it is warm, and it has a number of places to enjoy nature. Its people are very hard-working. They work in floriculture, agriculture, raising animals, and business.

Señora Elsa is 36 years old. She is married and has three children, ages 15, 12, and 10. Her oldest two children are in secondary school, and her youngest son attends a local school. Her husband works as a day laborer. They don't have their own home, so they live in the house of her mother, with whom they share the household expenses.

Doña Elsa does her household tasks, and since she lives in the country, she raises guinea pigs, chickens, and especially cattle, whose milk she sells. She also works in agriculture and sells her harvests in her canton.

She will invest her loan in the purchase of guinea pigs, chickens, and construction materials to construct a shed for raising guinea pigs.

Her goal is to study gastronomy, since she likes to cook.
