A loan of $3,950 helped a member to pay for a digital system for his business TV and to repair his fridge.


Vibula Mbagara Group's story

Seleman, who is in his mid 40s, is married and has nine children, of whom two are in school and the remaining are grown. He has been running a business selling sodas, waters, juices, biscuits and sweets for six years now. He works from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and he is able to make a very small profit per month.

This will be his fifth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to repair the business premise, pay the electricity bill, and buy a table, TV, fridge and two chairs for the business. He has paid back all his loans successfully.

He wants a loan to pay for a digital system for his business TV and to repair his fridge. His dream is to one day be able to buy a weighing machine so as to sell products like sugar.

He will share this loan with his loan group, "Vibula," which has 12 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
