Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Bibimaryam's story

Bibimaryam is a kind and hard working woman. She's twenty-six years old, married and has one 5-year-old kid. Bibimaryam's husband went to find work in Russia; however, he doesn't send home enough money, which has led Bibimaryam in search of work to provide for their everyday needs.

Bibimaryam plans to start her own business. She took some "Achieve Success" courses funded by the "Working Women's Association" and received a certificate of completion. The courses provided her with a great deal of information and she's certain of how to organize her business.

She wants to become a reseller of various groceries and food, because those are always in high demand. She wants to use the profits to improve her living conditions. Bibimaryam is asking for a loan of 5000 somoni in order to purchase her first inventory and begin her business. She hopes for your help.
