A loan of $300 helped to buy more groceries to sell to her customers.

Grace Marie's story

Grace recently took out a loan for PHP 8,000 to buy more groceries to sell to her customers. The money she earned from this loan was a big help in paying for her children’s education and meeting household expenses. She is applying for a new loan, for PHP 12,000, to buy groceries, toiletries, beverages and other products to sell to her customers. The more items she displays in her store the better she does. This new loan will help her sustain her family’s daily needs and pay for her children’s education. Her goal for the future is to expand her business and provide her family with financial stability. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work and draw strength and inspiration from her religion.

*All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners who meet weekly to study religion, build social capital, and repay microfinance loans.
