Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $275 helped to buy additional groceries to sell in her store.

Theresa's story

Theresa is 55 years old and married; she has six children.

Theresa works hard to provide for her family. She runs a general store in the Philippines, and she requested a PHP 11,000 loan through NWTF to buy additional groceries to sell in her store.

Theresa has borrowed, and repaid, three loans from NWTF before this loan. She has been running the general store for two years, and she also earns an income from frozen foods. She aspires to save enough, to expand her business and to repair her family's home.
