Nolberta Vicenta's story

Nolberta is a very enthusiastic, hard-working woman who lives in Camaná. The city has a warm climate and is also where some of the tastiest rice is grown, along with beans, chickpeas and other crops. Nolberta has seen much adversity in her life and a few years ago her husband died. Since then she has had to be courageous and struggle to provide for her three children on her own; and despite her sadness, she has been successful. In her free time, Nolberta enjoys watching movies with family. She also enjoys making her favorite meal: chicken stew. Because of her family's scarce resources, she was only able to get a high school education, but she would have liked to go on to the university.

With a lot of enthusiasm, Nolberta works as farmer on her small patch of land where she spends 10 hours a day. She learned the trade from her siblings and believes business is going well because she works very hard.

Nolberta is very grateful to Kiva lenders for their support. Thanks to them she can buy crop supplies, such as fertilizers, etc., so she can achieve a good harvest. This will allow her to continue growing and struggling daily to reach her goal: "To have her own business location".
