A loan of $4,125 helped a member to buy soaps, softeners and fresheners for her laundry business.

Mujeres Alegres Group's story

The communal bank Mujeres Alegres, comprised of 21 members, is in its third loan cycle. Each member has her own business but they also help each other mutually to make the group's burden a little lighter.

Gladys is the president of the group and says she helps her colleagues as much as possible, encouraging them to continue with their businesses and not to become disappointed. She has a laundry service and washes many loads every day. Hers is a very self-sacrificing job, but it is how she helps her family. Her goal is to continue in the group and to keep growing.

She is requesting a loan to buy soaps, softeners, and fresheners for the clothing, and other items. This is so she can continue doing her job and providing good customer service.
