A loan of $800 helped to buy fertilizers and irrigated crops.

Samuel Hipolito's story

Samuel is a hard-working and enthusiastic man, who lives in the city of Ocoña. The city is characterized for having beautiful beaches as well as agriculture, especially rice. There is also a large fishing industry and you can find a lot of typical dishes such as Chupe de Camarones [typical shrimp dish] in this city. Samuel is a father. Each day he tries very hard to get ahead for his two children. He loves them with all his heart and he would give his life in order to see them happy. Samuel works as a farmer. Currently more than anything else, he has sowed rice. He works about eight hours a day and with the fruit of his labor he is able to pay for his families' expenses since he has two children. He believes his business is going well because he's a very responsible person and he always has God on his side. Samuel is very thankful for the Kiva lenders since thanks to their help he has been able to buy fertilizers which allow him to maintain his crops and have a good harvest. Also he is able to keep working every day in order to make his biggest dream come true" "to be a great micro-businessman".
