Salomon Simon's story

Salomon is a very hard working and enthusiastic man. He lives in the city of Ocoña. Ocoña is a city that is known for having beautiful beaches as well as for being an agricultural area, specifically for the cultivation of rice, and for having a fishing industry. Also in Ocoña you can find a variety of traditional foods, specifically "Chupe de Camarones" (shrimp soup). When Salomon has free time he likes to spend time on the beach and occasionally likes to eat his favorite dish, “Chaufa de Pollo” (Peruvian style Chinese chicken fried rice)

As a part of his day to day routine Salomon works as a farmer. He plants rice and spends an average of 8 hours a day working with his crops. With the profit he makes from his work he is able to cover the household expenses of his family, which includes his three children. He believes he does well with his business because he is responsible and above all because he has God by his side.

Salomon is very thankful to the Kiva lenders, thanks to the support they offer he will be able to buy chemical and organic fertilizer and tools, so that he can provide good maintenance to his crops. This will allow him to continue working, ultimately towards his greatest goal of making improvements to his home.
