Sorie is a 29-year-old man. He was born in Kabala town, in northern Sierra Leone, where he currently lives. He is single with one child. Sorie is a businessman and has been a businessman for three years now. He sells plastic bagged water/drinks.
Sorie has requested a loan of 6,000,000 Leones from Kiva field partner, Salone Micro Finance Trust (SMT), in order to expand his business. He will use the loan to buy a large quantity of plastic bagged water/drinks to add to his current stock.

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is Kiva’s oldest field partner in Sierra Leone. SMT began operations in 2002 as a microcredit program of the NGO Child Fund Sierra Leone under a USAID program to assist the reintegration of ex combatants back into their communities. Today, SMT offers group, agricultural, individual and salary loans to micro-entrepreneurs through six branches and one sub-branch in rural, urban, and peri-urban areas.
