A loan of $625 helped a member to purchase clothing.

Sindiya Group's story

The women of the group Sindiya, which is composed exclusively of married women, average 29 years of age and two children each, all living in traditional extended families in Fana City, in Koulikoro (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). The women know one another through ties of kinship, community, and friendship. They do commerce in clothing and general shop goods.

The women of the group Sindiya are on their second loan.

This client, Nayini, the second person from the left in the photo, intends to purchase 10 embroidered outfits from Burkina wholesalers and then sell them locally at the house, by going door to door, and at the Fana market.

She envisions making an average monthly profit of 40,000 francs CFA that will be used to meet family needs. Part of the profits will be reinvested in the clothing business.
