A loan of $775 helped purchase more cattle for fattening and reselling.

Turdukan's story

Turdukan is 64 years old, a widow, and has raised eight children. All of Turdukan's children are adults living on their own. Only the youngest son is still single. He has been working in Russia, but she plans to marry him off in the fall. Turdukan has been working in animal husbandry for 42 years, and she started this business with 15,000 som (KGS). Because of her hard work, Turdukan's farm now has three cows, ten sheep and three goats. In order to further expand her business, Turdukan approached Bai-Tushum and Partners for a loan of 36,000 som (KGS) to purchase additional cattle, which will allow her to increase her profits from resale. Turdukan plans to use the profit she makes from the loan on her youngest son's wedding.
