A loan of $575 helped a member to buy bricks for construction.

Al-Qods Group's story

Al-qods is a three-member group of women from Taiz, Yemen. They have asked for a 120,000 YER loan from AMB.

Mariam, the leader of the group, is a 37-year-old married woman with four children. She is uneducated, and her husband is the only breadwinner for the family. Most of the money he makes is spent on raising their children and educating them. Their house is very old and needs some basic renovations. The house could fall down at any time. She has started renovating her house, and her funds have been depleted. She needs to complete the renovations, so she asked for a loan of 40,000 YER to buy bricks. She hopes that, after the completion of the renovations, she will feel safe in her house with her husband and children.
