A loan of $825 helped to buy cereals.

Adama's story

Born in 1966, Adama lives with his wife and 6 children in a monogamous family environment in the district of Massablacoura, Bougouni town. Adama, having done poorly at school, quickly became interested in revenue-generating activities, notably the buying and selling of cereals, which he buys from the peasant farmers in Bougouni and the surrounding areas.

Adama is on his first loan from Soro Yiriwaso, which will be used to buy 2 tons of corn, 1 ton of millet and half a ton of black eyed peas. He makes his sales at the Bougouni market for cash or credit, to a retail clientèle composed of men and women. Adama hopes to make a monthly profit of 110 000 francs, which will be used to meet his family's needs, to repay the the loan and to reinvest in his business.
