Loida is 31 years old and married with five grown children. She is from Mailen, Clarin. For the past five years, Loida has been farming bananas with the help of her children and she earns 6,000 PHP each month. She joined GDMPC in 2012.
Loida is requesting a 17,500 PHP loan to purchase fertilizer and pay for weeding costs. In the future, she hopes for a bountiful harvest and to expand her area of cultivation.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
