Nely's story

Nely is 50 years old, married to José who is 54 years old. They have three children, all of them adults. Now she and her husband live alone in their own home in a rural location. Nely is a curious and enterprising woman. Her district is known for its handcrafted products. She has been working making tapestries, woolen blankets, ponchos and other weavings from synthetic wool and cotton. Over time by dedication and hard work she opened a stand in a craft shop, located next to the city in her district, a meeting place for tourists that visit the area. But as the enterprising woman she is, she also has a car she uses on the public transport between Tarma and Lima. Now Nely is planning to travel to different country fairs where she can expand her business. She is knitting now scarves and hats for the cold, and so she needs help to acquire more merchandise in order to carry on with her business. This is her third loan through MFP and she expects not to let down the support and confidence offered to her by the communal bank Corazón de San Pedro, and she is committed to continue moving ahead with timely payments. She will invest the 1000 soles she is requesting in the purchase of crafts, to supply her store and to buy more colored wool in order to create her crafts.
