Gladys Suzana's story

Mrs. Gladys is rejoining the communal bank Damas Responsables (Responsible Ladies). She lives in a beautiful sector of the city of Cuenca. This city is the third most important economically in the country. Since 1999 it has been honored with the title of World Heritage Site (Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad). The people of Cuenca are kind, gentle, and have a warm heart. They keep the flames of their culture and tradition alive.

Gladys is 41 years old, is married, and has two children ages 18 and 16. Her oldest son works and helps her economically. Her second child is studying at college in the city. Her husband has a carpentry and upholstery shop. They live in their own home.

Gladys has worked in the family business for 15 years. It has helped her achieve success and economic stability. In her husband's shop they make all kinds of furniture. They work from Monday to Saturday without a fixed schedule. In her free time she works selling cosmetics.

She will invest her loan in puchasing wood, paint, glue, nails and other materials for the shop.

Her dream is that her children will become good professionals.
