A loan of $775 helped to buy meat, condiments, flour, lard, and other products used in preparing her dishes.

Maritza's story

Martiza is 38 years old and has four children. She lives with her husband and children in the town of Santa Cruz de Yojoa.

Maritza has been selling food for eight years. She prepares tacos, “baleadas” (the Honduran version of a burrito), fried chicken with plantains, and roasted meat to sell. Maritza has an established clientele in her neighborhood. She has been able to maintain a stable business by investing the various loans she obtained from ODEF.

Maritza is currently requesting her third loan, which amounts to 15,000 HNL, so that she can invest in the purchase of supplies such as meat, condiments, flour, lard, and other products that she uses in preparing the food that she sells. Her goals are to have a better standard of living and to maintain an active business. On a personal level, she hopes to acquire furnishings for her home, grow as an individual, maintain a good credit record, and help her children with their studies.
