A loan of $500 helped to buy three steers to fatten for a period of time and then sell.

Neris Adain's story

Neris is 23 years old. He lives with his partner and has a son. He raises beef cattle, an occupation he learned from his grandfather at a young age.

Currently he is studying agricultural engineering through a special plan called "distance-learning". Raising cattle has become Neris' only source of income, and it is how he supports his family and pays for his studies. This is due to the fact that he has little chance of obtaining formal employment.

He travels on a bus for an hour from his home to the place where he buys the cattle, which is the closest market. Then he selects them and buys them so that he return home. The trip takes an hour each way.

The loan he is applying to Fundación Campo for is to buy three steers, so that he can fatten them for a period of time and then sell them. With the investment he hopes that his income improves so that he can finish his studies, get a better job, and help his family even more.
