A loan of $525 helped to buy two more pigs.

Gudelia's story

Gudelia, 37, is a responsible mother. For 3 years she has been living in her sister's home together with her 4 small children. She has little agricultural land which was inherited from her mother. There she plants small quantities of beans, potatoes, and barley. At times, the food is used for personal consumption and when the price is very high, she sells them in the city of Jauja. But according to what she says, on days when she doesn't have to look after her plants, she works in other agricultural fields as a laborer. However her main economic activity focuses on the care of animals such as pigs, sheep, and bulls which she buys in order to then sell at a higher price to the butchers who frequently come her home because they know of her trade. Presently, due to a lack of funds, many animals are not gaining weight. She hopes to be able to work with her communal bank, and little by little, acquire the funds she needs in order to yield more profit. She belongs to the solidarity group "las abejitas" and this is her second loan with MFP. She is grateful for the opportunity that they gave her to progress since she will improve her business with the loan that she obtained.
Gudelia will use this loan to buy two more pigs to increase her livestock.
