A loan of $600 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Adriana's story

Adriana, 61, is a simple woman. She lives in the company of her husband, Bonifacio, and one of her 9 children: Lisenia, whom she takes care of in the home that she rented 12 years ago. In spite of her advanced age, she does various activities: "I enjoy being active" she says. Her day revolves around the planting of various products such as potatos, beans, peas, and other vegetables. She grows a great amount of crops on her own land. In addition, she owns dairy cows which produce milk daily which she sells at a good price. She hopes then to be very successful in this year's growing season since she wants to pay for the studies of her youngest daughter who studies administration in one of the best universities in the valley. "I brought out the professionals in my children, with effort and hard work, I also embroider traditional garments, sell food and operate a grocery store" she says. She belongs to the solidarity group "señoras del milenio” and this is her sixth loan with MFP. In all her years of work, she has gotten good results in her business and in her personal life for which she is grateful. Because of this, she promises to be timely in her payments. Moreover, she likes being a part of this communal bank since they all support one another and are like a family.
Adriana will use this loan to buy organic fertilizer to spread among her fields.
