A loan of $800 helped to buy coffee plants.

Lidia's story

Fifty-one-year-old Lidia is a very selfless mother. She is a widow with a big heart who is proud to have been able to have given her children, who are now grown, an education and to have made them people with values and a love of work. She owns an adobe home.

She owns some plots of land used to grow coffee that are 5km from her home.

She has been in this business for over 30 years and she expects to keep working with her characteristic enthusiasm, as she feels she has more than enough strength and desire to keep working.

She likes her work because she remembers her best times with her family in the fields.

In order to make sure the work goes smoothly, she always counts on the help of laborers who help her with different tasks that are too strenuous.

She is currently planning to expand her coffee plantings into the higher part of her land and she needs baby coffee saplings. To do this, she plans to go to her financier and ask for a loan to fund her next planting season.

She is thinking about rebuilding her home with fine materials through her work.

She needs 2,000 nuevos soles to buy coffee plants to expand her production and to hire more laborers for the work.
