A loan of $800 helped to buy manure and to hire laborers.

Nicky's story

Nicky, 34, is a hardworking, dedicated man who very much wants to make progress. He lives with Malti who is the mother of their children. He lives with his spouse and children who are 14 and 8 years old comfortably in his own house.

Nicky’s activity is growing manioc and bananas to sell in local markets and for personal consumption. He also grows palm trees for their oil and to do so has 20 hectares of land he acquired ten years ago which is the length of time he’s been in this occupation; his spouse helps him with the harvests and he shares profits with her.

He likes his business because he knows it well since he’s been doing it for many years and he’s passing the experience down to his children. Also, he’s learned how to manage the profits earned to support his family and see that they have everything they need. On the other hand, what he dislikes is the distance of his location for basic utilities like electricity have been slow in coming but with the new programs improvement is taking place in his location.

He now wants to expand the business to leave something sure for his children’s future. This will be MFP loan #6 and he’s asking for your collaboration to make his plans reality. He feels good in his communal bank because he knows most of the members and considers them to be good people. He will use the requested 2,000 new soles to buy manure for the palm trees and he will also pay for staff to help with the harvest.
