Yeth Mek Group's story

Mrs. Yeth M. is the group leader of a six-member banking group in Chrok Kov Village in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. She is a grocer in the village.

Previously, Mrs. Yeth M. obtained a loan from Acleda Bank to buy fertilizer and rice seeds, and she rented a pump to water her rice field. Her business now is very much improved, so she wants to expand her business. Thus, Mrs. Yeth M. needs to ask for a loan to buy more groceries to sell.

Mrs. Yeth M. has three children, two of whom are enrolled in state school; the youngest is too young. Her husband, Mr.Thy Pisch, is a subsistence farmer. Last year, Mrs. Yeth M.’s youngest child got dengue fever and she had spent $50 have him treated.
