A loan of $1,375 helped to buy supplies for preparing her dishes.

Celia's story

Celia, age 43, is a simple woman. She lives with one of her four daughters, Katherin, who she cares for in the house that she inherited 10 years ago. Celia will invest this loan in the purchase of a few ingredients and disposable plates.

She says that she began selling food from the doorstep of her house more than five years ago. The vital pieces of work equipment at her disposal are a small sandwich cart and some benches so that she can serve her customers. Celia works every day at her business, especially in the afternoons until evening. She generally sells everything she prepares, thus she is able to see a profit from her business. On occasion she has help from one of her sisters, but most of the time she manages her business by herself. She enjoys this type of work because it enables her to look after her children and be independent with the decisions related to her business.

This is her 10th loan with MFP. Celia is grateful for the support she has received because she is able to invest with her mind at ease. In addition, she promises to be punctual with her payments. Her Communal Bank has taught her how to be responsible. Celia will invest the money in supplies for preparing her dishes. If there is any money left over, it will be designated for a new cart.
