Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org base in Makeni, Northern Sierra Leone is very pleased to present to you this group of teachers from Waterloo, a small town near Freetown, Sierra Leone’s capital city. This group of teachers has come to SMT/Kiva lenders to apply for a loan of 15,100,000 Leones to solve their immediate financial challenges and at the end of each month, they can easily repay the loan using their monthly salaries. Their school’s bursar is directly responsible for making the deductions and repayments on their behalf. Augustine is the featured leader of this group. A native of Kamabai, in northern Sierra Leone, 32-year-old Augustine is married to a teacher and the couple has 2 children. Augustine has been a school teacher for 10 years now. He has requested this loan in order to buy materials for building a house like cement for the construction of a dwelling house.
