A loan of $1,000 helped a member to buy fertilizer for farmland.

Ann's Group's story

A 61-year-old mother of seven children, Ann resides in a rural village of the Pursat province’s Bakan district, Cambodia. To support her living, she has been farming rice on 2-hectares of farmland for 42 years. Low crop yield resulting from floods is the main challenge for her farming business. She can earn about 10,000 KHR per day and manages to save about 4,000 KHR each day after daily expenses.

Ann has been a member of Kiva’s partner, VisionFun, for one loan cycle. She completely paid back the past loan. Now she is leading her group of five to ask for a loan. Ann will use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland and use a portion of it to spend on gasoline for a water pumping machine. She hopes this loan will enable her to get a high yield from her paddy-field business.
