A loan of $750 helped a member to buy a plot of farmland to grow water convolvulus.

Sim's Group's story

Living in a wooden house with her family members in a rural village of the Kandal Stoeng district, Sim is aged 44 years and widowed with five children, one of whom is dependent on her and still in school. She earns a living through planting vegetables such as cabbages, chilies and water convolvulus (water spinach), etc. Having been in this business for five years, she manages to earn about 21,000 KHR per day and can save about 8,000 KHR each day for their future needs. This is a group loan for Sim’s group of three who live in the same village. Sim has been with VisionFund for four loan cycles. Now she is leading her group to apply for a loan. As the leader, Sim wants to use her portion to buy a plot of farmland to grow water convolvulus. She hopes to earn more income from her current business so as to better her family's living conditions.
