Ana María's story

Ana María is 27 years old and married to Juan Carlos. They have two children, and her eldest son was born with the birth defect hydrocephalus (too much fluid in the brain). This is a very grave situation for the family because at the same time they must care for their youngest son. Ana María and her family live in the community of Maica Sud in the city of Cochabamba. Thanks to her and her husband's hard work they were able to build a small home on land Juan Carlos inherited from his mother. Ana María makes a living in milk production with a good number of cows. She delivers the product to a business that makes dairy products. She plans to use the loan to build a wall to provide shelter to the livestock, which will help out a lot during this rainy season. Among her hopes and dreams are to be in good health so she can care for her sick son and to expand her livestock to at least 30 milk cows, and in this way she can have more income so her two children can have a better quality of life.
