A loan of $1,125 helped to buy school uniforms that will be sold to the students.

Joseph's story

Joseph is 45 years old and lives in the town of Mukono in the Mukono region of Uganda. For the past 4 years, Joseph has been working hard to manage his small primary school.

To help expand his business, Joseph has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy uniforms that will be sold to the students, and that will help Joseph generate greater profits and make more income to run his family. Joseph hopes that in the future he will be able to build more classrooms.

Joseph is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Joseph who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for micro-loans.
