Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $550 helped to purchase bags of maize, provisions, and soft drinks to sell.

Adwoa's story

Adwoa is a petty trader who sells maize, provisions and soft drinks. In front of her is the maize she sells; she is getting it ready for the market. Adwoa has been in this business for four years now. She is married with six children and her husband works with the Ghana coco board. She uses her income to assist her husband for the upkeep of their children.

Adwoa will use her loan to purchase bags of maize, provisions and soft drinks to sell. With the new profit, she will expand her business.
