A loan of $850 helped a member to buy fertilizer, rice seeds and pesticides for her farmland.

Yong's Group's story

A widow living in a rural village of the Battambang province’s Ek Phnom district, Yong is 61 years and earns a living through farming rice, planting watermelons and beans, and sometimes supplementing her income by raising cows. She has 11 children, one of whom works as a paid construction worker to better support the family. Having been in this business for thirty-five years, she can earn about 54,000 KHR per day and can save about 10,000 KHR each day for future needs.

Yong has been with VisionFund for six cycles while the other members have been from four to seven cycles. She completely repaid back the past loans, which have helped her to better support her family. Now she is leading her group of three to ask for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer, rice seeds and pesticides for her farmland. She hopes this loan will enable her to grow her rice healthfully and fruitfully so as to make better living.
