A loan of $1,075 helped a member to purchase a variety of goods for her husband's general store.

Nusrat's Group's story

Nusrat, pictured here holding the group's passbook, is a 42-year-old housewife. She lives with her husband and seven children in Punjab, Pakistan. Since 2007, her husband has had a general store, and he works very hard to meet his family's needs. He needs additional capital for the growth of his business. His wife Nusrat is a member of a five-person lending group, and she has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan. With the loan money, her husband can buy a variety of goods, like biscuits, sugar, rice, and chips, for his general store. This will help him meet his clients' needs and increase his savings to better his children's future. Nusrat and her husband are very hopeful that the loan will be a lucky and productive one for their family. She is very much thankful to BRAC Pakistan.
