A loan of $200 helped to purchase of day-old chicks, feed and feeders.

Mankaa's story

Mankaa is married with four children. They live in a three-room apartment in Ntingkag Mankon, Bamenda, Cameroon.

She had to overcome some challenges in life such as ill health and inadequate business capital, and she was unable to provide the basic needs of her family. These and others encouraged her to join GHAPE in 2010, from which she has taken and successfully repaid loans one time.

She plans to invest her loan in poultry farming. She plans to buy day-old chicks, fowl feed, and feeders. She says she will succeed in this business because she has been doing it for a very long period of time, and thus is now an expert in the field.

She also says she has customers, that is, she has a ready market for her products. She says this activity will be of great importance to her community, in that they will buy good table birds from her farm, and also they will obtain good manure from her farm.
