Ana Yensi
Ana is 27 years old, and is very enterprising and responsible. She lives with her mother, who is 67 years old and works as a seamstress.

Ana makes a living serving customers at an agricultural service center selling medicine, animal feed, fertilizer, compost and seeds for planting among other products. In this way, Ana and her mother work hard to move forward and, between them, maintain their home.

Despite her huge efforts, Ana has not managed to meet the basic need of improving living conditions in their home, and this is why she is requesting a loan from INTEGRAL. With this loan, she can replace the damaged roof and floor of her house. In past winters, they have suffered many leaks and flooding, which make it uncomfortable for them to be in their own home. Ana wants a safe house for her and her mother, and to live in peace.

About Apoyo Integral

Apoyo Integral (Apoyo) is a nonprofit organization offering financial products that enable clients to increase their working capital, purchase fixed assets, buy and remodel homes, expand agricultural business and more. The organization’s target group is businessmen and women who have already established their businesses but need financial support to strengthen or expand them.

Like Kiva, Apoyo is committed to empowering women involved in business activities in rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand these services to an even greater number of poor clients in rural areas.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
