Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

She learnt about Milango through friends who invited her to the group and she joined with the aim of accessing credit to improve her business operations. Her main challenges are bad debts and competition.

Josephine is applying for a loan of 41,900 Kenya shillings to purchase additional stock of secondhand items like bedsheets, shoes and clothing. Her extra income from the loan will be added to her savings to help open a stall in the town. Her dream is to open a larger boutique which can provide more income to educate her child.
