A loan of $1,000 helped to buy chainsaws for charcoal production.

Avelino's story

Avelino is 60 years old and has two children who are 7 and 11 years old. For many years, he has earned his living selling wood and producing charcoal. He learned this business from his father, who also made his living producing charcoal. He has a plot of land located in Rio Seco. This loan is his first within the institution.

Avelino will use this loan to purchase chainsaws for cutting wood to produce charcoal. The reason he is requesting this loan is that he lacks capital for buying these tools of his trade, which prevents him from cutting in larger quantities.

Avelino faces challenges in his business, like rising out of poverty. He is going to use the loan to improve his and his family's quality of life, since this is the only activity that allows him to provide for himself and his family. For that reason, he feels happy and grateful to the institution for the support provided.
