A loan of $4,000 helped a member to buy bricks to build a house.

Twaha Ally's Tupendana C Group's story

Twaha A., age 38, is married with one 2-year-old daughter. He sells mosquito nets, a business he started eight years ago. He works from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and is able to make a monthly profit of about $31.

Twaha has taken out four previous loans from Tujijenge Tanzania to increase his capital. He hopes for a new loan to buy bricks to build a small house. Twaha will share this loan with his loan group, named Tependane C, whose 18 members guarantee one another in paying back their loans.
