A loan of $400 helped to purchase wholesale hardware products in order to have stock available for sale.

Elva's story

Elva, who is 34 years old, is a woman with many hopes to get ahead and afford a better quality of life. She is married to Rosendo, who is a merchant sailor. They live together comfortably in their own house. Elva’s work is selling general hardware products, like pipes, glue, iron, etc. For this, she uses a shop that she set up inside her home.

She brings all of her merchandise from the capital and sells it at competitive prices. She succeeds in earning her customers’ preference, who recommend her to other people. This makes her customer base grow, being a very busy store.

She feels that her business is profitable enough because of the demand for her products, due to the fair prices that she offers. Before starting her business, she didn’t have her own income. Therefore, she decided to get a job and earn one. In this way, she would support her spouse in carrying out their plans to purchase their own house.

From seeing the good results, she hopes in the future to increase the amount of merchandise and expand her shop. For this, she is waiting for a contribution so that she can make her plans. On the other hand, she is committed once again to complying with the payment of her quotas, as with previous loans that she had. In addition, she is grateful to be part of her communal bank, because all of the members are people who are responsible and very caring.

With the requested loan of 1000 nuevos soles, she will invest in the purchase of wholesale hardware products in order to have stock available for sale. She hopes to get more suitable prices for her bulk purchases and to have better earnings.
