Florinda's story

Florinda, who is 49 years old, is a hard-working and dedicated woman, in addition to being happy and friendly. She was separated 3 years ago. From her marriage she has two children, ages 18 and 27. She lives in her own house, which she managed to build with great effort. Florinda's work is selling beauty products, which she buys through catalogs and sells personally to her friends from her house, in addition to haveing a beauty salon set up in her own house, where she tends very kindly to her customers, offering them good service. She began 4 years ago with a loan from MFP, and she does all the work herself. She considers her business profitable because she has many customers and her shop is located in a market where great numbers of people come every day to do their shopping. She likes her beauty business, since she learned at a center for occupational education, where she managed to learn about everything related to beauty and its products. Now, having the income that her business generates, she wants to continue with her business, and with the earnings she wants to expand her beauty salon to be able to handle more customers and offer them better comfort. She hopes for a small loan so that she can achieve her goals. She also comments that she feels comfortable with her communal bank because she considers its members to be responsible and friendly people. With 800 PEN she has applied for, she will invest in the purchase of materials to outfit her beauty salon, such as dyes, treatments for fingernails, shampoos, and other items.
