A loan of $400 helped to buy merchandise (Pisco and wine).

Celia's story

The warm city of Ica is characterized by its agriculture, especially for the harvest of grapes and asparagus, among others. For that reason, Celia lives here. She is a woman with a contagious charisma and has a strong desire to get ahead. Due to her limited economic resources, she was only able to study until the fifth year of secondary school. She would have loved to be able to study for a university degree.

Day after day Celia works at her small business selling beauty products and also Pisco(grape brandy) and wine. She works around eight hours a day and can serve up to 10 customers a day. Celia tells us that she is getting ahead with her business because she offers products of good quality at reasonable prices, and because of her friendliness with customers.

Celia is very grateful for Kiva’s lenders. Thanks to the help they have given her, she will be able buy more products for her business to offer, like Pisco and jugs of wine. This way she will be able to have a bigger variety of products in her business, increase her income, and strive to make her biggest dream a reality: Having her own home.
