Kiyom's story

Kiyom is an educated and open-minded man. Thanks to his parents, he was able to attend college, and all his life he has worked hard and honestly for the good of his own people. He is now 50 years old. He is married and has five children. Since his wife is a homemaker, he is the main breadwinner in the family, although his older children are also working.

For the past five years he has been teaching at a high school and he is one of the best teachers there. All his income is used to meet the needs of his family and therefore he is unable to save any money. His daughter will soon get married, and he needs to give her a dowry. Specifically, he would like to give her some furniture for her future house. Kiyom and his daughter went to visit a furniture store, and his daughter showed him which furniture she would like to receive as a gift from him. Kiyom cannot say no to her, although he doesn't have enough money to buy her expensive furniture.

Kiyom is requesting a loan of 2,500 somoni to buy some furniture. He is relying on your kindness, since he is supposed to give furniture to his daughter before her wedding. He promises to repay his loan on time.
