Zenaida's story

Zenaida is 23 years old. She is very hardworking, and above all, she has an optimism and desire to excel. She is a mother of a young boy for whom she keeps moving forward and for whom she would give her life to see happy and much better than her. She lives in the city of Ica which is noted for its hot weather as well as its flourishing agriculture, especially in the cultivation of asparagus, grapes, cotton, and paprika among others. When she has free time, she likes to listen to music and at times she likes to eat one of her favorite dishes: the rich Carapulcra con sopa seca. Due to the limited financial resources of her parents, she only was able to study until the fourth grade of her secondary education, but she would have liked to have studied nursing.

With much enthusiasm, Zenaida works in her business of selling groceries. She works in her business around 8 hours a day and can attend up to 23 customers per day. She believes that her business is going well because she is very kind with her customers and above all she sells quality products at an affordable price.

Zenaida is very grateful for the Kiva lenders since this is the second time that they are providing their great support. Thanks to their assistance she will be able to buy more merchandise such as candy, soft drinks, noodles, and canned goods among other things and so she will be able to have a greater variety of products and will be able to attend to her customers better. This will allow her to increase her income and continue striving every day in order to realize her greatest dream: "to have her own home."
