Gloria Santosa's story

Gloria is a very determined and enthusiastic woman. She lives in the city of Nazca. It is a Peruvian city located in the south-central region of Peru. Nazca is a very active city due to large number of tourists that visit the ancient Nazca Lines daily, and also due to the zone's development boom in mining, agriculture, and commercial activity that is transforming it into one of the most cosmopolitan cities of southern Peru. She is a mother of 4 children whom she loves very much and they are her reason for living. Like any other Peruvian, she enjoys food very much; one of the dishes that she enjoys the most is the delicious ceviche. Gloria only studied until the 5th year of secondary school, but she would have liked to study business administration.

Gloria works in her business selling groceries. She works around 12 hours daily and can assist up to 20 customers per day. She believes that her business is going well because she is friendly to customers and because she offers quality products.

Gloria is very grateful for the Kiva lenders since it is the second time that they are providing her with valuable support. Thanks to this great support she will be able to make improvements to her business such as hanging a small awning outside as to offer more comfort to her customers which will permit her to have more customers and to continue striving each day to fulfill her great dream: to finish the construction of her home.
