A loan of $600 helped to fix his boat's motor.

Julio Edilberto's story

Julio is a hard-working man and father to three children who he has brought up alone as their mother left them when they were small. Since then, he became mother and father to his children and with lots of effort he managed to bring them up well. Now, they have grown up, he still watches out for them and they love him very much.

Julio has worked as a fisherman every day for the last 5 years. He first started to work as a diver on a boat, then after much saving he was able to buy tools and later on bought his own boat, which he still works with today. He believes that his work is going well because he is responsible and especially because he has great faith in God.

Julio is very grateful to the Kiva lenders because, with their help, he will be able to do some repairs on his boat's motor outboard and he will also buy some nets to be able to fish because the ones he has at the moment are old and broken. He will therefore be able to have a well-maintained boat and the necessary equipment for his job which will help him bring in more money and keep fighting to make his great dream come true: "To finish building his house from bricks".
