A loan of $800 helped to buy turkeys for Christmas.

Yanira Elizabeth's story

Yanira, 30, lives in the city of Imperial that’s noted for its varied climate and also for agriculture and animal husbandry. Yanira is the mother of a little three-year-old boy who she supports by herself since the child’s father abandoned them when he was a newborn. Despite this, Yanira works very hard every day to be able to give her little one everything necessary to keep him healthy and above all loved.

With much effort and above all savings, Yanira managed to start her own business selling chickens and turkeys, among other, two years ago. She works about 9 hours daily and with the fruits of her humble work and much effort is able to cover household expenses. She believes that she’s getting ahead because her son is the best motivation God could have given her.

Yanira is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they've given her she will be able to buy turkeys to sell during the Christmas season; she has several pending customer orders and she’ll be able to improve her income this way and continue striving to make her greatest wish reality: to give her son a good education and to have her own locale.
