A loan of $400 helped to buy clothes and cosmetics.

Tania's story

Tania, 36, is a good, kind, very hardworking woman. She lives with German, 38, with whom she has two children: Gabriela, 16, and Angélica, 4. She works very much every day to provide her children with a better quality of life. She’s lived in her own house for many years.

Tania’s work consists in selling cosmetics like talc, perfume and accessories and other merchandise like clothes and shoes according to the season she’s in. She heads out daily seeking customers who for the most part are her friends, neighbors and family members. She’s been doing this work for 14 years and has always done it alone. She also has a display case at home where she places the products she has in stock to sell to customers who come by her house.

In time she learned that in order to be successful in this type of work she needs to go out looking for customers using persuasion techniques to sell enough to earn good profits. She hopes to continue to work and to have much success in future. Her sales are very good now and this means her income is better and that helps her improve the living conditions she’s able to offer her family.

Because of this, she is grateful for the opportunity and for the trust placed in her to receive this loan. On the other hand, she commits to make her installment payments punctually. She enjoys being part of her communal bank because she’s noted that all the members are responsible, mutually supportive people. She will use the requested 1,000 soles to buy merchandise comprising clothes and some cosmetics she needs to continue with her work.
