A loan of $725 helped to buy all of the staples that are necessary for the preparation of her meals.

Leni's story

Leni, who is 45 years old, is a charming and hard-working lady. She has been married for 29 years to 55-year-old Neptalí, from whom she is inseparable and who is her unconditional friend. She has four children, two of which are now adults and two of which are still minors: Divana, 15, and Diego, 16. These two live with her in the house that she received as a gift when she got married, hence giving them the best she can offer so that they can grow up to be good people.

The work to which our friend Leni dedicates herself is the sale of food. At night she sets up her tables and her kitchen on the sidewalk to sell all of the dishes that she has prepared during the day. Many people come to her stand in search of a satisfying meal, consuming exquisitely seasoned stews. At the same time, she takes advantage of the opportunity to sell refreshing drinks and sometimes soft drinks of every flavor. She has been working at this job for 4 years now, and she has learned that she must always be in high spirits and put on a pleasant smile for her customers so that they feel good about coming to her and want to come back in the future. Some weekends she offers barbecue from morning until night.

She is very good in what she does, now that she has many customers with whom she is able to generate good daily earnings. She hopes to continue her work and in the future open her own restaurant to continue offering to her customers the best and most varied in what she refers to as culinary art. Therefore, she is thankful to those who would make this loan possible in order to continue her objectives. She is also very determined to once more make her payments on schedule as she has done with loans that she has received in the past. She is very happy to belong to a communal bank with such good, friendly and supportive members. With the amount for which she has asked (S/. 1800; $725), she will be able to buy all of the staples that are necessary for the preparation of her meals.
