Ica, Peru / Grocery Store

A loan of $400 helped to buy merchandise for her store.

Viki's story

Viki is a 22-year-old woman who is single and lives in the city of Ica with her parents and siblings. She is a friendly, hardworking, and enthusiastic person who has the drive to succeed. Unfortunately, due to the lack of financial resources and the need to work, Viki was not able to study for a professional degree as she would have liked. She enjoys cooking in her free time. On a few occasions, she will prepare a delicious dish of chicken and rice to share with her family.

Through her own initiative and with great effort and dedication, Viki manages a small business in which she sells beverages and snack foods. She begins every day during the early morning hours and is able to work approximately eight hours. Viki enjoys her work and believes she is doing well because of the friendly service she provides to her customers.

Viki is extremely grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to the assistance they have provided, she will be able to buy merchandise for her business such as snack foods, panettones, beverages, chocolates, and other products. As a result, Viki will have a business that is well-stocked so that she can serve more customers. She will continue working and striving to move forward so that she can achieve her greatest dream of having a house of her own.
