Jaquelin Karina's story

Jaquelin, 31, lives in the city of Chincha with her husband and her two small children, whom she loves and who are her main motivation in life. She's a very friendly, hardworking, and enthusiastic woman. She and her husband devote all their effort to getting their family ahead. Thanks to her effort and the support of her parents, Jaquelin was able to study education. In her free time she likes to make desserts and sometimes she cooks a delicious "carapulcra" [pork stew] to share with her family.

On her own initiative and with a lot of effort and dedication, Jaquelin works in her small business making and selling cakes, "alfajores" [sandwich cookie], ice cream cakes, and other desserts. She also works as an elementary school teacher. She works every day from early in the morning, and can work for approximately eight hours. She's comfortable doing her job and believes it's going well for her because of her good seasoning and her friendly customer service.

Jacquelin is very grateful to the Kiva lenders because thanks to their help she'll be able to buy cement, sand, and other construction materials to plaster and paint her house. This way she'll continue working and making the effort the achieve her big dream of being a great pastry chef.
